In a world that's more connected than ever, staying safe and smart online is not just a skill — it's a superpower! The “Beyond the Screen” youth exchange brings young people from Romania and Hungary together for an exciting 7-day adventure into the world of digital safety, cybersecurity, and digital wellbeing.
By taking part in interactive workshops, creative challenges, and group activities, participants will learn how to protect their personal data, recognize online threats, and build healthy habits in the digital world. Together, we'll dive into real-life online scenarios, discover how to communicate safely and respectfully, and create a space where collaboration and creativity thrive.
This program is designed to boost your confidence online, sharpen your digital skills, and help you connect with new friends from different cultures — all while having lots of fun! Along the way, you'll gain the tools to stay safe in today’s digital jungle and bring these important lessons back to your community.

Resident or citizen of Romania or Hungary.
Aged between 13–14 years old.
Curious and enthusiastic about digital safety, cybersecurity, and digital wellbeing.
Open-minded, active, and willing to participate fully in group activities and discussions.
Ready to collaborate with young people from a different country and culture.
Available to attend the entire 7-day program and actively engage in all sessions.
Committed to sharing the experience and the results of the activity within your school or communities after the exchange.
From each country, we will select:
20 young participants (aged 13–14 years old).
2 group leaders (over 18 years old) to accompany and guide the group.
We will be staying at Country Court in Curteni, Mureș, a cozy and welcoming location perfect for learning, relaxing, and connecting with others. Participants will be accommodated in well-designed container homes, with 4–6 people per room, separated by gender to ensure everyone's comfort.
Each participant will be served three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
IMPORTANT: We kindly ask all participants to share their dietary preferences or restrictions during the application process so that we can make sure everyone’s needs are taken into account.

No participant can arrive later than the official arrival day or depart earlier than the official departure day. Skipping activity days is not tolerated.
We encourage greener means of travel whenever possible, such as public transportation, carpooling, or contracted bus. Once the groups are formed, we will organize and arrange the most efficient route and means of travel to Curteni, Mureș.
The transport tickets will be purchased by the organization for the participants.
Please do NOT buy any tickets on your own without first consulting us, to avoid any risk of your travel expenses being ineligible for reimbursement.

(Some groups might start the travel during the night in order to arrive in time to the activity in time)
IMPORTANT: Most of the costs like travel, activities, materials, accommodation, and daily food, are covered by the Erasmus+ programme. Rest, such as insurance, travel upgrades such as priority, checked-in luggage, 1st class tickets, etc, are not covered. Please, remember, The EU does co-fund, not fully fund this event, therefore you must cover your additional expenses.
All the participants must have valid travel insurance for the whole project period, including the travel days. The insurance must cover the following:
Third-party liability
Lost or stolen baggage.
Accident and serious illness.
We cannot accept participants without private travel insurance. Supplementary, we also recommend that you get a European health insurance card. Your national health insurance provider issues this card.
It’s time to showcase your country and culture in a fun, creative way!
Each national group is expected to prepare a short program to present their traditions, customs, and way of life. This is a special moment when participants can get to know each other’s cultures in a relaxed and informal setting.

We encourage you to be as creative as possible — think outside the box! Use theatre, live presentations, dances, or even funny sketches to make your evening memorable.
In the area, the average temperature in early summer is between 10 °C and 25°C. Please check accuweather.com for more updated information about the weather. Casual, comfortable sportswear, slippers or sneakers for indoor and comfortable shoes for outdoor activities. It may also rain throughout our stay, so please pack warm clothes, waterproof jackets, and shoes.

Arrival of participants, getting settled in, informal meet & greet.
Day 1: Building Our Digital Community
Get to know each other, team-building activities, introduction to Erasmus+, Youth Exchanges, YouthPass, and activity overview.
Day 2: Stepping Into the Digital World
Workshops on Digital Safety: understanding online risks, protecting personal data, safe browsing habits.
Day 3: Detect, Protect, Connect
Sessions on Cybersecurity: recognizing cyber threats, online fraud, password security, and creating strong digital identities.
Day 4: Healthy Mind, Healthy Online Life
Workshops on Digital Wellbeing: screen time balance, mental health in the digital age, handling online pressure and information overload.
Day 5: Communication & Collaboration in the Digital Era
Interactive activities on effective online communication, digital collaboration tools, building positive and respectful online interactions.
Day 6: Cyber Adventure Day
Outdoor and indoor interactive games based on cybersecurity challenges.
Day 7: Reflection, DEOR Planning, and Next Steps
Final reflections, feedback sessions, DEOR (Dissemination and Exploitation of Results) planning, YouthPass Certificate ceremony, and celebration.
