Duration of the project: 01/01/2025 - 31/12/2026
Participating Countries: RO, HU, FR
Dedicated to: youth workers & young people 14-19 years old
Methodology for Outdoor Activities is a two-year Erasmus+ small-scale partnership dedicated to creating a structured framework that makes outdoor education more inclusive, consistent, and impactful. The project responds to a common challenge: while outdoor activities are widely used to support learning and well-being, many organizations lack a formalized methodology to ensure quality and sustainability.
Central aim of the partnership is to design and document a comprehensive outdoor activity methodology, supported by five detailed activity plans and clear implementation guidelines. This methodology will be practical and adaptable, allowing youth workers across Europe to apply it in different cultural and social contexts.
To bring the methodology to life, the project will:
Train youth workers through conducting three international training sessions, focused on outdoor education, non-formal learning, and inclusion.
Pilot the methodology by mindfully implementing three pilot activities, directly involving young people. These pilots will test and refine the activity plans in real-world conditions.
Create sustainable resources – the final methodology framework and activity booklet will be published digitally and shared widely.
The project is strongly aligned with Erasmus+ priorities on inclusion, diversity, and quality youth work. By equipping youth workers with new tools and competences, we aim to strengthen their capacity to engage marginalized youth, promote social interaction, and support personal development through outdoor experiences.
Beyond training and pilots, the plan is to also reach the broader community. Through dissemination events, workshops, webinars, and a dedicated online space, the results will be shared with educators, policymakers, and youth organizations across Europe.
Ultimately, Methodology for Outdoor Activities is about more than organizing activities in nature: it is about empowering youth workers, supporting young people with fewer opportunities, and building communities that learn, grow, and thrive together in the outdoors.
We are looking forward to engaging youth workers and young people (aged 14–19) from Romania, Hungary, and France in this exciting journey of outdoor learning and inclusion!
