The youth exchange "Rural Goes Green" brings together 35 young participants aged 16–19 from Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic. The main goal of this exchange is to explore the green practices used in rural areas, understand why they are important, and learn how they can be applied in everyday life to support a more sustainable lifestyle.
As environmental issues continue to grow, it's essential for young people to understand how their choices and actions impact the planet. Rural communities often follow sustainable traditions that are closely connected to nature — such as eco-friendly farming, resource-saving techniques, and local green solutions. This exchange invites participants to discover these practices and think about how they can adopt similar habits in their own lives.
Through interactive workshops, team activities, and cultural sharing, participants will learn about topics like renewable energy, zero-waste living, biodiversity protection, and circular economy principles. They will also explore what it means to live sustainably — from reducing consumption and reusing materials to making more environmentally responsible decisions in daily routines.
By the end of the exchange, participants will develop relevant competences regarding the topic, including environmental awareness, critical thinking, teamwork, and practical knowledge about sustainable living — all while building friendships and learning from diverse cultures.
If you're aged 16 to 19 and passionate about nature, green practices,eco-friendly behavior and curious about the practices used in the rural areas, this project is the perfect opportunity for you.
If you encounter any obstacles that might make participating in the project more difficult, we'll do what is in our power to accommodate you and make your participation as smooth as possible. Please feel free to contact us for more details.
