Facilitating youth exchanges in 2026 means working with participants who are constantly connected, informed—and influenced by AI.
So where does that leave the facilitator?
“Cool Facilitators” is a 8-day training course bringing together 20 facilitators, youth workers and volunteers the to rethink facilitation in the digital age. Instead of competing with technology, participants will explore how to use AI as a support tool for engagement, reflection and learning—while keeping the human connection at the center.
Through hands-on sessions, experimentation and exchange of real experiences, participants will gain practical tools, test new approaches, and strengthen their ability to design meaningful learning processes.
In the end, the seminar invites one key question:
How can facilitators create learning that is both digitally relevant and deeply human?
Objectives
O1. Foster the exchange of experiences and good practices between 20 facilitators on how to combine AI and digital tools with participatory face-to-face facilitation methods in youth exchanges.
O2. Explore innovative approaches to designing non-formal learning programmes adapted to the digital realities of young people, blending AI-supported tools with meaningful social interaction.
O3. Develop a shared approach and recommendations for partner organisations within the ASEY Network, compiling good practices of non-formal education methods that combine AI, digital tools and face-to-face learning across all phases of mobility projects: preparation, implementation and follow-up.
Learning Process
We learn through practice. Expect interactive sessions, teamwork, simulations, and real-case workshops, mixed with reflection and peer feedback.
Each day includes 4 sessions (90 minutes each), with two coffee breaks: one between Session 1 & 2, and another between Session 3 & 4. Meals follow a clear rhythm: breakfast from 08:00, lunch at 13:00, and dinner at 19:00.
The sessions will be active and content-rich—expect a strong mix of knowledge, practice, and participation—so you’ll leave with concrete tools and outcomes you can transfer directly into future youth work.
We are looking for motivated youth workers, trainers, facilitators, youth leaders, volunteers and project coordinators from European Union Member States and third countries not associated to the Erasmus+ programme, who are interested in exploring how facilitation can evolve in a digital and AI-shaped reality.
