Activity Dates: 19/05/2026 - 26/05/2026
Travel Dates: 18/05/2026 & 27/05/2026
Residents of European Union Member States and countries associated with the Erasmus+ programme
Youth work today happens more and more in a digital world, where young people connect, create, and express themselves online. This brings an important question: how can youth workers use digital tools not just as add-ons, but as meaningful elements within the non-formal learning process?
This Training Course will bring together 26 youth workers from EU member states and countries associated with the Erasmus+ programme for 8 days in Mezőberény, Hungary. The experience is built on non-formal education, learning by doing, and sharing ideas with others. A strong focus of the course is the role of digital tools in enhancing non-formal learning. Participants will explore how digital methods can support participation, reflection, collaboration, and creativity—key elements of effective youth work. Rather than replacing traditional approaches, digital tools are approached as powerful enablers that can deepen learning experiences and make them more accessible, interactive, and relevant for young people.
Throughout the course, we will explore a variety of digital learning tools together—both familiar and new ones—while creating space for experimentation and peer learning. Participants will also work in teams to design and develop their own digital tools and interactive games, with the aim of addressing relevant topics for young people in an engaging and educational way.
Through interactive sessions and practical activities, participants will experiment with digital content creation, online facilitation, digital storytelling, and virtual collaboration tools. They will reflect on how to intentionally integrate these tools into their educational design, ensuring that technology supports clear learning objectives and meaningful engagement.
Objectives
O1: To strengthen the digital competencies of 26 youth workers by providing practical training on digital tools, digital content creation, and innovative online and blended learning methods applicable in youth work activities.
O2: To improve the pedagogical practices of youth workers by introducing innovative non-formal education methods that integrate digital technologies and virtual collaboration tools into youth learning processes.
O3: To support youth workers in developing inclusive digital youth work approaches that enable the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in digital and blended learning environments.
Learning Process
We learn through practice. Expect interactive sessions, teamwork, simulations, and real-case workshops, mixed with reflection and peer feedback.
Each seminar includes 4 sessions (90 minutes each), with two coffee breaks: one between Session 1 & 2, and another between Session 3 & 4. Meals follow a clear rhythm: breakfast from 08:00, lunch at 13:00, and dinner at 19:00.
The sessions will be active and content-rich—expect a strong mix of knowledge, practice, and participation—so you’ll leave with concrete tools and outcomes you can transfer directly into future youth work.
